Megaman Zero series
In 22XX Sigma was finally defeated and the Maverick wars ended. Zero, carrier of the original Maverick Virus decides to lock himself away for 100 years to finally delete the remains of the virus from his body. Soon after that the Elf wars started, and X was left fighting alone. 100 years later, a girl scientist named Ciel finds the sleeping Zero and wakes him up. The world has changed drasticly, humans are living in one giant city called Neo Arcadia, every Reploid that doesn't obey their every command is labeled a Maverick and is instantly terminated. Those falsly accused of being Maverick have created the Resistance and resist Neo Arcadia. Zero, having lost his memory, joins the Resistance to fight for what he thinks is right.

Megaman X4 X and Zero are called to the Sky Lagoon, a giant floating base, to stop a large scale Maverick attack. When the Mavericks destroy the power generator, the Sky Lagoon crashes into the city below, killing thousands of humans and Reploids. When Colonel, Repliforce's second in command, shows up on the scene, X and Zero suspect that the Repliforce, an army of highly skilled Reploids, is behind the attack. Colonel denies but is asked to disarm and come to Maverick Hunter Base. Colonel is too proud to disarm saying that they'd rather die with honor than to disarm. The goverment has now labeled the entire Repliforce Maverick. As result to that, the Repliforce chooses to fight for independance, but unlike Sigma, without harming humans. Now X and Zero have to bring General and Colonel to their senses and stop the meaningless war. In this game, you choose to play either as X or Zero only at the beginning, and are stuck with that character throughout the game. Each character has a different storyline and although the stages themselves remain the same for both paths, each character’s unique skills alter the way you play. X is his usual self. Zero loses his buster altogether and can now only use his Saber. Megaman X4 is rated as one of the best games in the X series and definatly the best X game released on the Playstation.
